Cashmere Canyons Preserve

Lovely wildflower hike with decent elevation gain on well marked trail

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Easy to follow trail with trail markers and trail maps along th eway. No blowdowns of any type.

Arrived about 10 am on Mother's Day.  Main lot was full but there is an overflow lot across the road. No permit of any type needed to park. Vault toilet available, but was out of toilet paper, so bring your own. Paved road to get to the TH, no problem for any type of vehicle.

This is an exposed trail so sun protection is needed and bring enough water for duration of hike as there is no available water source on the trail. First 2 miles is a steady climb to a trail junction with cut stumps to rest. Here you can go left (which we did) or right. The left will take you to a loop trail that also summits Sunrise and Little Bear. Both had nice views of the Enchantments and the valley below.  There were also cut stumps to sit on to eat lunch.  Wildflowers are currently in bloom, but are better the higher up you go. My GPS had a total of 8.2 miles with 2200' of elevation.  I would recommend doing this hike in  the shoulder seasons since it is so exposed and I would be worried about the heat. Came upon  two non-venomous snakes, so do be wary of the wildlife.
