Did a Summer skin & ski trip from Paradise to Camp Muir. Snow was still present at the upper parking lot, and you were able to start skinning right from Paradise. The winter route at near Pan-Point was open, but it required we pack our skis up and hike until we got closer to the Muir snowfield. The snow field was in great shape and the guide services are back in full swing.
It was incredibly hot blue-bird day, and the glare from the snow was brutal. Go heavy on the Sun Protection and pack lots of fluids.
We started skiing from Paradise at 10am and got to Muir around 4pm with plenty of breaks (6hrs). We hung at Muir for 30min & skiing down took us about 2.5 hours. Back at the cars at 7pm. Nearly missed pizza & beer at RMI (they close at 8pm) but we made it!
