Trip Report

Boulder Ridge/East Shoulder (Olympics)

On Oct 18, 2014 a group of 5 scrambled Boulder Ridge. Weather was partly cloudy and windy on the ridge. The route followed the trail to marmot pass and the followed a boot trail on the ridge until boulder ridge headed east at which point we dropped into the basin. We went to the obvious notch which turn out to be not correct notch but by staying high on the north side of the ridge we were able to traverse over to the correct basin with the snow field which we crossed and scrambled to the notch and then worked our way up the south side of the ridge to the summit. Due to the wind the stay on the summit was short, time for a few pictures and headed back down. Trip time 9 hours. We stopped at the Lumberman's café where some to the group enjoy oyster burgers.
