Basic Snowshoe - Lanham Lake & Sam Hill Peak

We snowshoed to Lanham Lake in 4:14 hours, gaining 1150’ in 4 hours 14 minutes.  Arriving at the Stevens Pass Nordic Center at 8:30 AM, we encountered only one other party on the way to the lake.  The return trip was a different story, veritably mobbed. Snow conditions were good, with good grip, neither too hard nor too soft.  The forecast light snowfall failed to materialize.  We circumnavigated the lake before heading back. A most enjoyable day.
