Basic Snowshoe - Lanham Lake

Our party of three arrived at the Stevens Pass Nordic Center trailhead around 9:30. We set off on the well-demarcated and compacted (but not icy) trail to Lanham Lake, arriving there at 11:30. After a half-lunch, we followed a well-used track across the lake. Beyond that, we travelled cross country, maneuvering around downed trees and minor stream crossings, to the open meadow area to the south.  We then returned to the lake, completed lunch are returned to trailhead at around 2:30. While we went in on  snowshoes, we returned in microspikes.   We saw no other party, nor tracks of another party, all day.
