Basic Snowshoe - Copper Creek Hut

Not much snow out there. Made it to the hut from the lower parking lot with microspikes.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Lower part of the route was snow free. After about a mile, there was enough snow to make microspikes nice to have. The hut was open, warm and there were lots of volunteers. THe route was well signed.

We were prepared for rain and didn’t have high expectations for a lot of snow. Just three of us were on the trip, and we moved quickly from the lower parking lot, which was bare, up to the snow. Microspikes let us keep the pace up and we were at the hut pretty quickly. For a brief moment we had a little snow. It was a good group, conversation was lively, and everyone was prepared.
