Trip Report

Basic Rock Climb - Ingalls Peak/South Ridge

lovely day with no one else out there!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Route is totally free of snow. Intermittent snow on the trail approaching the pass (we ended up consulting gps a few times) and then snow all the way up to the route.

There is still evidence of multiple avalanches around the basin but nothing that threatened our hike in.

We were the only people on the route and we only saw 2 people otherwise. IMG_7422.jpg

We brought 2  60m ropes and 1 70. We did a double rope rappel off the top and then used the 70 to reach the snow at the base of the climb. You could do it with a 60 on the final rap but the 70 was definitely more comfortable.

Very hot out there - we brought up 2 liters but had to filter at the creek near the top of the pass on the way back.

Total time car to car - 11 hours.

I tried to upload pictures but the website isn't letting me so you'll have to take my word on it!
