Basic Alpine Climb - Silver Star Mountain/Silver Star Creek

Great trip with hot weather and amazing scenery.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • Trail was well marked until the entrance to the gully. Then followed various cairns up to col. Snow on other side of col seemed to be melting out fast and the snow all the way to the summit pyramid was real soft. No crampons were used. 

Parked at milepost 166. Camped at col. Beautiful up there. One goat kept us company through the day. A pretty straightforward climb with lots of people doing it one day. The extra day was nice to be able to relax at the col for a while.
