Baker Lake

The trail to the Silver Creek campground was in excellent shape. Bear vaults were available at both Maple Grove and Silver Creek camps which were a great addition. We walked further after setting up camp at Silver Creek and determined that Noisy Creek would also be a good campsite. The views of Baker Lake, Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuskan were inspiring as well as some of the old growth trees. Note that high winds arise from the lake rather quickly and worthwhile to secure tent stakes with weights. It rained forcibly Sunday morning and all day and some wet snow fell but didn't stick. We brought a Kelty Noah's tarp that was very helpful Sunday morning. An excellent early season trip.
