Backpack - Royal Basin

This was a stunningly beautiful trip to high meadows, Royal lake, and the upper basin where we wanted to live forever!

  • The trail is pretty straightforward. It is a steady but rewarding climb up the 7 miles to Royal Lake. The trip to the upper Basin is another mile and is the icing on the cake! It was a little buggy which would be hard to avoid. Lots of deer who might like to eat salty backpack and pole handles.
