Arthur Peak (winter)

1/10/15 6 of us biked to Green Lake TH, hiked to 3100', and left trail at 270 bearing. We were almost immediately in steep, slippery terrain with lots of blowdown. I highly recommend leaving trail at lower elevation. This cost us some time, which combined with wet terrain and tedious work around dreadful deadfall and small trees, led to us turning around 300' below the summit at our 1:30 turnaround time. We saw almost no snow in this very low snow year, and were glad we left snowshoes at the car. The group was remarkably cheerful and enthusiastic on a scramble that overall had very little to recommend it given today's conditions.
