Arrowhead Mountain

8+ a.m. start from the parking location at Hwy 2 and the Maintenance Station. Originally planned to attain east ridge, started uphill a bit early, should have followed railroad tracks another quarter mile east. Planned to travel at a bearing of approx.. 158, we actually veered to a higher number and came to the talus field below the summit. Scrambled to ridge running north from summit at 5000' and followed on snow and rock to summit. East ridge descent to 4800' and 340 degrees to railroad tracks. Snow level 4800'.
Grand variety of flowers at varying elevations.
Fair weather, a lite sprinkle around 10 a.m., views on and off to the summit, a cloud burst of blowing snow at summit for 10 minutes, good weather on descent, rain just before reaching car. 5 1/2 hours ascent, 34 hour descent.
