Alpine Scramble - Silver & Tinkham Peaks

We did Silver, Tinkham, and East Tinkham peaks from the Mirror Lake trailhead

  • Road rough but passable

  • As expected there was hazardous loose rock near the summits of Silver and Tinkham.   We wore helmets for those sections.

Briefly, from Mirror Lake parking area we hiked to Mirror Lake, took the PCT northbound, then up to Silver-Tinkham saddle.   We did Silver, then Tinkham, then East Tinkham, before heading down the SE ridge back to Mirror Lake.   From there it was an easy walk back to the cars.

Approx 7.9 mi, 3000 ft gain.

We had great weather with a nice breeze.  Fire hazard was high, with dry conditions and recent T-storms.     Everyone handled the loose rock very well.   We spent a lot of time enjoying the summits and views.

This was a mentored scramble.
