snow was surprisingly good, a little on the soft side.
walked up to the top of the excelsior lift and did ice axe arrest practice. after 23min everyone was ready to move on.
tried a different way on ascent. walked around to the ne side of the ne ridge then we ascended the ne ridge which had multiple steeper snow to dirt and back transitions,
which i assume would be much easier with continuous snow.
for descent, we took a very mellow route that worked quite well - headed due south, then took a very mellow glissade, with an excellent runout, into the basin ese of the summit, then followed the easy terrain back.
in the morning we were pleasantly surprised to find the bathrooms open and unpleasantly surprised they were closed on our return :<(
