Alpine Scramble - Lake Constance

Rewarding challenging scramble to a Beautiful Lake.

  • Trip descriptions did not disappoint as the sign at the TH says infrequently maintained trail, lots of blow down. This is a S-5  T-3 scramble with a short amount of hiking in the center and at the lake. There are good water sources at both of these locations.

Bike approach 1:30 in  1 hr. out we used the upper bypass and mostly walked bikes there. 3:30 up from the TH to the lake.  3 hrs. down Lunch at the lake and several breaks along the way. We wore helmets on most  of the day, due to loose rocks and consequences of a fall with lots of very steep exposure. Lots of diversity of flowers including a few Fairy slipper orchids.
