Alpine Scramble - Boulder Ridge/East Shoulder (Olympics)

A gorgeous fall day in the open and expansive high country of the NE Olympic Mountains. Grand vistas in all directions.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Fragments of snow from several weeks ago, with a few slabs of ice on the trail approaching Marmot Pass.  We brought micro-spikes, but did not use them.

Perfect fall weather with chilly conditions on northern aspects, yet toasty/bone warming sun to the south (when the wind stopped blowing ;).  Lots of interesting rock formations, with an interesting perspective of Warrior and Constance:
