Tyee Mountain 6654'

Moderate hike of 6.6 miles round trip with 1530' gain. The Billy Ridge Trail #1413 travels through the site of a large 1994 fire to a lookout built in 1952. The original lookout was built here in 1931. The lookout can also be rented 6 months in advance on recreation.gov.

Getting there

From Wenatchee, take alternate Highway 97 north towards Chelan. Just before entering the town of Entiat, take a left-hand turn onto the Entiat River Road. Follow this road approximately ten miles to Ardenvoir.
Turn left onto FS 5700 which is signed Mad River. This well paved road will take you over 14 miles gaining ~3300 feet. FS road 5713 turns to your right just as the pavement ends.  With high clearance and all-wheel drive, you can drive prudently to the top near the lookout.  However, for the Billy Ridge trail, continue 2.4 miles on gravel road to a locked gate.
