Tubal Cain Mine

An easy day hike of 7.2 miles and 1,050 feet of elevation gain to a former mining camp and an optional 1.25-mile side trip to the wreckage of a World War II aircraft.

on the trail

Hike the Tubal Cain Mine trailhead, the first mile of the trail passing under some 10-foot-tall rhododendrons, which present a lovely display in the early spring.  At about 3 mi, a boot track to the left heads up to some World War II aircraft wreckage in Tull Canyon (1.25-mile round trip), and at 3.5 mi and 4,350 ft the trail passes the site of the old Tubal Cain mine, now just some wooden pipes, rusty wire and equipment.
