Sunrise Ridge (Olympics)
An easy rolling 5.2 mile day hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain in the Olympics. Enjoy with great views of Mount Angeles and the Hurricane Ridge area along with wildflowers and potential wildlife sightings during the summer season.
Temporary Closure
5/7/23 Update: Access to the Hurricane Ridge area is closed beyond the Heart of the Hills entrance station. Hurricane Ridge is closed indefinitely following the loss of the Hurricane Ridge Day Lodge due to fire. Visit the Olympia National Park alerts for more information.
On the Trail
From the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center, the hike the Hurricane Ridge to Klahhane Ridge Trail. The trail rounds Sunrise Point and follows the Mount Angeles saddle. Turn around at the intersection with Switchback Trail that heads up to Klahhane Ridge and down to Hurricane Ridge Road.

- There is no water along the route with very little shade.
- Trekking poles are highly recommended.
