Sugarloaf Peak
A short hike of 1 mile and 180' gain to a staffed lookout and "breathtaking vantage point" overlooking Leavenworth and the eastern central Cascades. This can be done in combination with other hikes in the area for a longer day.
getting there
From US Highway 2 in Leavenworth, turn north onto State Route 209 (Chumstick Highway) and follow is for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto Eagle Creek Road and follow for 5.8 miles until the pavement changes to dirt. Turn left onto Forest Road 7520 and follow it for 5.9 miles to an intersection (with a bathroom available). Turn left on unmarked FR 5200, also called Entiat Summit Road, and drive 10.4 miles until you see a gravel road tot he right. Park here on the side of the road.
