Springwood Parcel City Park
This park is on the site of a private rhododendron garden established in the 1960's and is a gem to visit in May when the wide variety of rhododendron's are in bloom. It is a stroll on level grassy and barked trails through a labyrinth of easy trails.
A city park with 3.19 acres of level trails but no dedicated parking. Art and Peggy Zabel built and stewarded the Rhododendron garden at Springwood beginning in the late 1960's. It was a popular local attraction for many decades. In 2007, the Bowen Foundation purchased the property in order to preserve it and subsequently donated it to the City of Olympia in 2015.
