Sourdough Mountain

A very strenuous, 11-mile round trip hike with 5,085 feet of elevation gain in the North Cascades. The trail heads up steeply and steadily through forests and meadows to an old lookout with amazing views of the Cascades.

getting there

Drive SR 20 to Gorge and  Diablo Lakes. Take the left fork onto Diablo St. just before crossing the bridge across Gorge Lake. Continue 0.7 mile and bear right, staying on Diablo St. just after crossing the bridge across Stetattle Creek. Drive 0.25 mile to the trailhead (900 ft). Park on the right side of the street.
