Round Mountain

At just over 5 miles round trip and 1800 feet of elevation gain, the Round Mountain trail offers nice views, and a good half-day hike for those looking to explore the Goat Rocks Wilderness without too much off-pavement driving.

Getting There

Drive US-12 to 6 miles east of White Pass and turn right onto Tieton Reservoir Road which changes names to Tieton Road (Forest Road 1200). Drive 3 miles, turn right on Forest Road 530, and drive 4 miles to Indian Springs Trailhead (4,300 ft).

On the Trail

Hike the Round Mountain Trail as it climbs gradually but steadily through sparse forest. When the trail reaches the ridge (5,400 ft), it continues along the ridge to a junction. Heading right goes to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and trail that goes straight leads to a short spur trail to the summit of Round Mountain. From the junction consider hiking  1.5 miles Twin Peaks.
