Port Washington Narrows

A sea kayak trip in the strait that runs between Dyes Inlet and Sinclair Inlet in Puget Sound near Bremerton. Rocky Point marks the north end of the narrows on the west side, and Point Turner marks the south end of the narrows on the west side.

launch points

  • Evergreen Rotary Park on the west side of the narrows just south of the Warren Ave bridge.
  • Lions Park on the east side of the narrows north of the Warren Ave bridge.

notes

  • Tidal currents can exceed 4 knots.  There are very few places to play in the current.
  • The pilings for both the Manette and Warren Ave bridges provide some fun water for experienced paddlers particularly on the ebb, but don't get caught on the upstream side of the pilings.
