Nisqually Reach/Anderson Island

A South Sound paddle from Luhr Beach to Anderson Island and back via Tolmie State Park and the Billy Frank National Wildlife Refuge.

This location is suitable for students pursuing their Basic Sea Kayaking badge.  One suggested route is to begin at Luhr Beach Boat Launch and travel NW to Tolmie State Park for a short break.  From there you can cross Nisqually Reach to the WWTA campsite on Anderson Island for lunch, then return to the launch site passing Billy Frank National Wildlife Refuge.
