Mount Jupiter

Follow a ridge that divides the Dosewallips and Duckabush Rivers. Enjoy views of Jupiter, The Brothers, and Mount Constance and wildflowers in May and June. The hike all the way to Mount Jupiter is a challenging at nearly 15 miles round trip and 3,600 feet of elevation gain, but you can turn around at any point.

getting there

Drive US 101 to 15 miles south of Quilcene. Turn west onto Mount Jupiter Road (Road 92004) and 3.1 miles to the gate. If the gate is closed, park here without blocking  the gate. If the gate is open, turn left onto Road 92006, bearing right in 0.4 mile and left in another 1.4 miles to continue on Road 92006. In 0.8 mile reach the trailhead (2,050 ft).

  • There are no water sources on this route. Bring plenty for the whole day.
