This short, but intense, hike is for fans of unmaintained and abandoned trails and views from abandoned fire lookout sites. It’s 6 miles and 1,800 feet elevation of gain round trip to an abandoned, seldom visited fire lookout site south of Snoqualmie Pass.

Hike to an abandoned, seldom visited, fire lookout site south of Snoqualmie Pass. The route involves walking on a steep, rocky road, through a brushy clear-cut and up an abandoned trail to the old lookout site on the south summit of Meadow Mountain and then on to its northern summit. Enjoy great views into both eastern and western Washington, weather permitting.

As of 2017, the Snoqualmie Ranger District considers Mountaineers trips and courses to be "nominal use". Leaders should print and copy this designation letter to show rangers they may see on trail or carry a digital copy on their phone.
