Lost Creek Ridge

An out-and-back hikes to Round Lake or Byrne Lake along Lost Creek Ridge in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. The trail switchbacks up steeply to Bingley Gap, follows the ridge and then reaches a junction with a short hike to Round Lake and longer hike to Camp Lake and Lake Byrne.

Getting There

Drive the Mountain Loop Highway to 16 miles south of Darrington or 26.2 miles east of Verlot. Turn east onto Forest Road 49 and drive ~3 miles to the Lost Creek Ridge Trailhead (1,900 ft).

On the Trail

Lost Creek Ridge

11 miles round trip, 4,300 feet of elevatrion gain, 5,600 ft high point

Hike the Lost Creek Ridge Trail as it switchbacks up steeply to Bingley Gap, following the ridge and then drops down to Round Lake.

Lake Byrne via Lost Creek Ridge

24 miles round trip, 6,500 feet of elevation gain, 6,000 ft high point

Hike the Lost Creek Ridge Trail and camp at Sun-up Lake, 6 miles and 4,200 feet of elevation gain from the trailhead. Another 6 miles and 1,000 feet of elevation gain further up the trail is Lake Byrne, at the end of Lost Creek Ridge. Pass Hardtack Lake and Camp Lake along the way. Snow generally lingers into summer.
