getting there
From Puyallup drive south on SR-161 and turn left (east) onto SR-7 (National Park Highway). Stay on the National Park Highway when it becomes SR-706 and through the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Proceed up the road to the Longmire Ranger Station and Lodge. Park behind lodge (2,770 ft).
Winter drivers in the park are required to have snow chains, and may be required to install them at Longmire.

Hike from Longmire on the Wonderland Trail to Box Canyon. It's 12.5 miles with 2,800 feet of elevation gain one-way with a car shuttle. Shorter trips to Narada Falls and Reflections lakes can be done as round trips or one-way hikes.

7.6 miles round trip, 1,300 feet of elevation gain, 4,100 ft high point
Snowshoe along the Nisqually River and then Paradise River following the Wonderland Trail's route to Paradise Camp (3,800 ft) just a mile shy of Narada Falls.
