Lava Canyon
A moderate hike through a canyon formed by a lava flow on the southeast corner of Mount St. Helens. You'll cross a suspension bridge and climb a ladder to a viewpoint to see thunderous cascading waterfalls.
on the trail
The hike starts with the Interpretive Trail and offers a different experience from other trails. Hike through some metal stairs, a springy suspension bridge, and a long ladder that leads down to the gorge floor. There is a small side trail leads to a tall fin of lava and a series of small waterfalls.
