Lake 22

A moderate hike in summer and showshoe in winter off of the Mountain Loop Highway. Travel through old growth cedar forest along a cascading creek to a popular cirque lake at the base of Mount Pilchuck. The low elevation of this route means the trail is often hikeable with boots and traction devices for much of the winter season.

getting there

Drive SR-92 to Granite Falls, turn left onto N Alder Ave. This becomes the Mountain Loop Highway. In ~12.5 miles, just after crossing over Twentytwo Creek, the trailhead is on the right.
