Iron Bear (winter)

Iron Bear, Point 5489, is on the divide between the headwaters of Iron Creek below Blewett Pass and Bear Creek in the Teanaway. It offers a winter scramble accessible by Forest Road 97 all winter in an area often protected from winter storms.

approach & ascent

It is simplest to approach by going straight up the Iron Creek road.  Given energy and time a more circuitous route back by way of Teanaway Ridge and its spurs is possible.
