getting there

Drive Icicle Creek Road ~16 miles from Leavenworth to the Chatter Creek Trailhead (2,900 ft).

approach & ascent

Hike the Chatter Creek Trail to around 6,300 ft (just after traversing above the basin) and leave the trail, crossing a drainage. Then ascend the open slope heading for the saddle on the north ridge of Grindstone. When you're 100 feet below the saddle, head left for broad gully to bench on ridge at 7,370 ft. Travel west descending about 70 ft, traverse the boulder field and gain the minor summit. Descend 50 feet from the minor summit to the basin then ascend to the summit.
