Green Mountain (South Cascades)

A moderate, 8.2 mile in-and-out day hike with 1,200 ft in elevation gain. The trail goes up the southeast spine of Green Mountain. Hike along meadows, marshlands, forests of the Spring Creek Valley to the top of Green Mountain where mighty Mount Adams and wonderful views await you. The sparkling blue-green waters of the Chain-of-Lakes reflect the glacier-covered north face of Mount Adams. You'll witness the black basalt that dominates the thin strand of lava bed along the Adams Creek valley.
