From I-90 take Exit 34 near North Bend and head north on SE Edgewick Rd. Turn right onto SE Middle Fork Rd and follow it for ~7.5 miles to the Bessemer CCC Road-Trail Trailhead, also called Blowout Creek TH. A few cars can park here (do not block the gate). Additional parking is available ~100 years further up the road at the Oxbow Loop Trailhead.

Follow Bessemer CCC Road-Trail, also called Blowout Creek trail, north for 1.1 miles to junction with CCC Trail. Continue southwest on CCC trail for 2.6 miles to junction with Green Mountain trail. Then, 2 miles to Absolute Last Promontory. The last 2 miles involve ~1600’ elevation gain. Beyond this viewpoint, the route becomes a scramble.

notes

  • Please do not us the "Sitka Spruce Trail", located on SE Middle Fork Rd just past the concrete bridge. In 2021, DNR conducted a SEPA assessment of the area and decommissioned the trail. The trail is closed due to poorly sited, unsustainable trail segments that pass through difficult, wet terrain with clay soils in environmentally sensitive locations.
