Glines Canyon Spillway Overlook

A moderately easy 7.2 mile hike with 300 feet in elevation gain. This is a hike on the Olympic Hot Springs Road from Madison Falls, where the road is blocked, to the Glines Canyon Spillway Overlook that features the remnants of the once Glines Canyon Dam.

Getting There

From US 101, 9 miles west of Port Angeles, turn south onto Olympic Hot Springs Road. Continue about 2 miles to the park boundary where the road is closed because of storm damage (as of Dec 2016).

Hike Olympic Hot Springs Road from the park boundary near the Madison Falls to Glines Canyon Spillway Overlook. Enjoy views of the Happy Lake Ridge along the road. Check out what is left of the dam on the Upper Elwha River after it was blasted to free the river.
