Fourth of July Recreation Area
Approximately 25 miles of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the greater Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area with access to ungroomed backcountry trails. There are two warming huts and great views plus plenty of snow.
Getting there
Take Exit 28 off of I-90 (Fourth of July Recreation Area) and drive south for a half mile. Park on Lakes Divide Road or follow the lower road to the ski trailhead where there is a restroom.

Approximately 25 miles of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing within an easy drive of Spokane or Coeur d'Alene. The U.S. Forest Service, Idaho Parks and Recreation, and the Panhandle Nordic Ski and Snowshoe Club jointly maintain this recreational area. Dogs are not permitted on the cross-country ski trails, but are permitted on the snowshoe-only trails.
