Axis Peak
Great views of the Enchantment Lakes area peaks like Mount Stuart. This is a moderately strenuous scramble of 10 miles and 4,250 feet of elevation gain from Eightmile Lake.
getting there
Drive US-2 to Leavenworth and take the Icicle Creek Road to Bridge Creek Campground. Turn left onto Forest Road 7601 and drive to the Eightmile Lake Trailhead.
Approach & Ascent
Hike the Eightmile Lake Trail to Eightmile Lake. Cross the the Eightmile Lake outlet, walk approximately halfway around the lake, then scramble south to the col at 6,940 ft. Continue climbing to the summit via the south side of the mountain.
