Dry Mountain (West Access)

From the West Access (Skokomish Valley side) of the unmaintained Dry Creek trailhead scramble 6 miles total and 2400' gain. Steep meadows and the final rock scramble has exposure. Great views!

This scramble is from the West Access of Dry Creek Trail, Skokomish Valley side.    Start hiking at the abandoned Dry Creek Trailhead.   Cross over the creek and continue up the old road to the trailhead.   The trail then winds up to the saddle where you turn left and begin your scramble up through the forest, to the steep meadows and then to the rock scramble (some exposure).  

High clearance vehicle is required to drive up Forrest Service Road 2353. From Shelton, WA take US Highway 101 for 6 miles north. Then turn west onto the Skokomish Valley Road. Follow Skokomish Valley Road for about 8 miles to the forest boundary. Continue on Forest Service Road 23 for another 8 miles. Stay right on Forest Service Road 2353 drive past Lebar Horse Camp and stay left at fork and continue on Forest Road 2353 to the #2355 junction.Veer right to stay on the 2353 road and travel about 3 miles to the Forest Road #2353-200 spur. Turn left onto the spur and drive about 1 mile to the Dry Creek Trailhead.
