Crystal Mountain Resort Ridge Walk

Take the gondola to the summit and hike along the ridge.

Getting There

Drive SR-410 to just north of the entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Turn east onto Crystal Mountain Blvd (Forest Road 33) and follow it to the Crystal Mountain Resort parking lot.

on the trail

Once at the top of the gondola, you may want to venture out along one of the ridge-lines for more sprawling views. Simply walk down the ridge towards the top of the Green Valley Chairlift and continue down the service road toward the Northway Charlift or further out to Morning Glory Bowl. Another option from the top of the Green Valley chairlift is to head towards Powder Bowl and the Crystal Mountain Trail for a short scenic walk. Remember that it is uphill on the way back. Plan to leave enough time to catch the last gondola ride down or walk down to the base area on one of the trails.

Join a Forest Service Ranger on an interpretive walk Thursday - Sunday from the top of the gondola at 11am, 1pm & 2:30pm. Learn about local flora and fauna, human history and the geologic processes which have shaped this unique alpine landscape. Tours are complimentary and open to everyone.
