Alki Crest

Alki Crest is a moderate to strenuous but straightforward day hike with 2,740 feet of elevation gain in just under 3 miles. It is in the Carbon River area of Mount Rainier National Park.

From the Old Carbon River Ranger Station at 1,760 feet elevation, take the 0.3 mile nature walk. Enter the loop to the right, going counterclockwise. At about 0.1 mile the nature walk splits to the left and the Boundary Trail goes right. Look for the "West Boundary Trail" sign. Head up the trail. In less than 3 miles, and 2,740 feet of elevation gain, is Alki Crest (aka Alki Ridge) at 4,500 feet elevation.
