on the trail

Hike the Ziegler Creek Trail from the Colonel Bob trailhead just off Lake Quinault's South Shore Road. It's a buttkicker of a hike, but in fair weather the 360-degree summit views are fantastic -- seeing the Olympics, Quinault Lake and the Pacific Ocean from this height is a real treat! Look carefully for the summit register.
