Clara & Marion Lakes

A short climb through pine trees leads to a pair of small but pretty lakes easily accessed from the Mission Ridge ski area parking lot. Skiers and winter scramblers can continue on to Mission Peak.

GETTING THERE

From Wenatchee, drive SR-285 to the Mission Street exit, then follow signs to the Mission Ridge Ski & Board Resort. The trailhead is located at the entrance of the ski area parking lot on the right side (4,600 ft).

On the trail

The path to Clara and Marion Lakes is perfect for family-friendly outings and for anyone looking for a shorter but pretty hike or snowshoe. The trail climbs uphill through pine trees before eventually leveling off. In ~0.5 mile, the trail crosses the Pipeline Trail and at ~1.3 miles there is a junction with the Squilchuk trail—stay left and soon reach Clara Lake. There are several campsites at the lake. To reach Marion Lake, continue ~0.3 mile where the trail ends.

Winter Travel

From Marion Lake, skiers ad scramblers can travel southwest for about half a mile to 6,000 ft. Then head WSW for approximately another mile to reach the summit of Mission Peak (6,876 ft). This is complex terrain with avalanche hazards.
