Chuckanut Ridge & Mountain

Combine trails to make a loop trip over Chuckanut Ridge or Chuckanut Mountain just south of Bellingham. Any combination can give you up to 15 or more miles and over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Be sure to include a stop at Cyrus Gates Overlook for some great views.

getting there

Arroyo Park

From Bellingham: Take Exit 250 off of I-5 south of Bellingham and turn west onto Old Fairhaven Parkway. Drive 0.1 mile, turn left onto 30th St and drive 1 mile (30th St becomes 32nd St).  Turn right onto Old Samish Rd, drive 0.2 miles to Arroyo Park (200 ft).

From Mount Vernon: Take Exit 246 off of I-5 north of Mount Vernon and drive 4.2 miles west on Old Samish Rd to Arroyo Park (200 ft).

North Chuckanut Trailhead

The North Chuckanut Trailhead is just west of Arroyo Park.

On the trail

Start your hike at the North Chukanut Trailhead or in Arroyo Park and consider these trails to make a loop up to, along and back down from Chucknut Ridge or Chuckanut Mountain in Chuckanut Mountain Park.
