Hope Island

Hope Island State Park near Olympia is one of the jewels of the south Puget Sound. It has easy access from many sea kayak launch points and is a great place for camping. This island park features a Cascade Marine Trail camp and a number of individual park campsites. A trail network on the island offers a walk through varied old growth forest. During extreme low tides (below ~2 ft), a reef east of the island is uncovered providing fascinating views of marine life.

The Mountaineers has a commercial use permit with Washington State Parks for all free and fee-based outings at state parks. Leaders should carry a print or digital copy of our  commercial use permit to show rangers they may encounter.
