Anderson Butte

A moderate cross-country ski tour and snowshoe on Forest Road 1107 from Baker Lake. It's 10 miles round trip with 2,000 feet of elevation gain. On a clear day, enjoy views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan.

Getting there

From SR 20, turn north onto Baker Lake Road (Forest Road 11). Just past the junction with Forest Road 12, turn right onto Forest Road 1106 and follow it around the south end of Baker Lake and the Anderson Creek Sno-Park. Park here or drive as much of Forest Road 1107 as you can.

ski/snowshoe Route

This tour starts in the trees so the snow can be there until April or longer. As the road travels uphill and out of the trees, the view of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan are beautiful. At the end of the road (near the trailhead) there are views of Anderson Butte and good skiing late into the spring.
