Urban Walk - Montlake to Kirkland via 520 Trail
Let's ring in a healthy 2022 by walking 20.22 miles across both bridges! Possible lake and mountain views with no avy risk! We'll do a loop starting in Kirkland/Bellevue, south through downtown Bellevue, west to Seattle across the I-90 Bridge, north along Lake Washington and the Arboretum, and east across the 520 Bridge back to our starting point. Rain or shine. Leader's permission and fully vaccinated participants only.

The route will mostly be on city streets, the bridges, and some city trails. We'll be crossing streets so don't expect peaceful forest hiking! We may adjust our route in real time so please be flexible. We'll make stops for bathrooms and snacks along our route. There will be an optional post-hike meal to celebrate our first hike of the year! Our goal will be to finish by nightfall but be prepared for night walking if needed so headlamps are required. Note the expected pace of 2.5-3 mph.
Because of the distance involved, participants must have completed comparable walks/hikes/runs in the past six months. When requesting Leader permission, please include information about comparable trips if they are not evident in your Mountaineers activity history. Proof of vaccination is required. Leader will not review requests sent prior to the open registration date.
Meet 8:00AM at the South Kirkland Park and Ride. Details will be sent prior to the trip.
