Urban Walk - Lake Union Loop

This morning adventure's main goal and mind to explore the Lake Union area with its many parks, sculptures, and oddities that add to the Seattle charm. This is a great way to get a more relax hike in while meeting fantastic people. 

We will start at the southern tip of Lake Union and work our way clockwise through Westlake and Lower Queen Anne Hill. Then we'll cross the draw bridge overlooking the Shipping Canal into Fremont and Wallingford with a short detour to Gas Works Park. Next the route will take us to the University District before crossing over into Portage Bay and  East Lake before bringing it back to Lake Union Park. 

The route is mostly flat or low grade with the exception with hills/stairs to get to bridge entrances.

Since this is in an urban area, we will work as a team to keep the group safe. We will cross intersections as a group, obey all signs & crosswalks, and demonstrate leave no trace principles. Comfortable walking shoes, sufficient water for a longer walk, layers, and clothing colors that help with making the group noticeable to traffic and other trail users. 

Due to the Mountaineers Covid-19 policies, we request that all participants are fully vaccinated and have no Covid-19 symptoms or recent exposures.

Meet in the front of "The Center for Wooden Boats" at 8:30 am. There are bathrooms in Lake Union Park and parking near by.  Many are paid spots.

The easiest Light Rail station to come from is the Westlake Station where there a multiple options for bus routes.
