This walk covers the first ~8 miles of the Centennial Trail from 1st Street in Snohomish to 20th Street NE, with an additional 3/4 mile to North Cove Park (Lake Stevens). The route is paved the entire route. I completed it in mid-July, and thoroughly enjoyed the route as well as the break at the lake.

We will follow an out-and-back for 17 3/4 miles total distance with ~350 ft elevation gain. The trail is mostly flat all the way to 20th Street NE, with no part that is steep. We will turn left on 20th to make our way to Lake Stevens,  during which we will walk up a couple of small hills. At North Cove Park by Lake Stevens, we will rest, have lunch, use the bathroom if necessary, refill water bottle/pack, then head back the way we came. We will look to do an avg 2.5 mph pace, albeit slightly slower on the couple of uphill portions. In light of low elevation gain and low technicality, the trip has a Difficulty rating of Very Strenuous and Leader rating of Challenging because of activity guidelines regarding distance and pace.

While I am not requiring Leader Permission for this walk, please ensure you have sufficient conditioning for an all-day outing at a moderate pace. I may reach out to folks if I am unsure, just to ascertain your plan. and maximize chance of success for this trip.
