Lets have fun and enjoy this unique opportunity to volunteer for a half day beach clean-up along a pristine section of the The Olympic National Park coast.  Consider making a weekend out of it and enjoying the LaPush/Forks area.

We will be working in conjunction with Washington CoastSavers and Olympic National Park to honor Earth Day with a beach clean up at Third Beach.

Our anticipated volunteer commitment will be for a half day, approximately from 7:30 to noon.

Physical requirements include the ability to hike 3+ miles (total) of trail and also possess the ability to beach clean once at the desired beach location.  Finally, we will manually haul out the garbage we collect.  Moderate to good conditioning is suggested.

Equipment considerations:

  • Big old backpack for marine debris collection
  • Work gloves
  • Knife (ability to cut fishing and crab ropes)
  • Trash picker (optional)

Notes:

  • This event happens rain or shine.
  • We haul out what we collect.
  • Typical debris includes, buoys, ropes and plastic items both big and small.
